Beautiful Eyebrows

To shape your eyebrows and maintaining them is probably one of the most important things to do and remember when it comes to looking good.

Here are a few tips for shaping:

Take a straight line from the outer corner of your nose, upwards.
This is where your eyebrow should start.
If your brow starts to far out it will make your eyes appear very wide set.
If they start to far in your eyes will appear to close together.

For the position of the brows arch, you will "draw" a straight line from the outer corner of the nose along the outer side of your pupil.
See diagram

For the length and position of where your brow should end, take a straight line from outer corner of nose across to outer corner of eye.

This formula ensures that every persons eyebrows is shaped exactly according to their own face shape.

Remember not to over pluck your eyebrows.
The fuller eyebrow is much more in fashion and it also frames your face better.

To maintain your brows remember to always:
Brush of excess powder / foundation.
Comb hair upwards and outwards, this will also open up your eyes.
You can apply a little bit of gel to them to make them stay in place.
Make sure that the colour of your brows suit the colour of your hair, but be careful not to go to dark or to light.
To colour your brows you can have them tinted, use eyeshadow with a flat edge brush or colour them with eye pencil/eyebrow pencil.
Just make sure that you never create a definite line, always keep it soft and blended. WE DON'T WANT YOU TO LOOK LIKE BRIDE OF CHUCKIE.........

Goodluck with those brows!!!!!!!!!!!

Being 7 months pregnant, I recently went for a photoshoot to celebrate SPRING!!!
With my second little angel on the way it reminded me again of what a gift our lives truly are.
We really are blessed and we should look around and appreciate the gift of spring everyday.

Take a minute to listen to the birds, smell those new blossoms and.....SMILE.
May you all feel life in the air....

You, your face and hygiene

Scarlett Johansson’s secret to a beautiful skin with a healthy glow is that she never goes to bed with make-up on.

She also cleans her brushes once a week.

We don’t realize how many bacteria there is on our make-up sponges and brushes.

You can clean your brushes with baby shampoo or isopropyl alcohol.

Never let your brushes soak and leave them to air dry naturally on a towel.

I use isopropyl alcohol to clean my brushes, because it disinfects the brushes and the alcohol evaporates quickly.

You can buy the alcohol at your chemist over the counter and it is not expensive at all.

As for the make-up sponges……..

You can wash them out with sunlight liquid until they are clean if you are using them on yourself.

If you are working on clients, throw it away after each client.

The make-up stains the sponge and it just looks dirty and unprofessional.

Jennifer Lopez's make-up artist, Scott Barnes loves using Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish to smooth out the skin.
I found an easy home recipe for the Brown Sugar Body Polish.

Brown Sugar Body Polish

Makes 1 jar.(340g)

1 vanilla bean
1 1/3 cups lightly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup oil*
1 tablespoon vitamin E oil
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice mix
Seashell scooper (optional)

Place vanilla bean in decorative 1 1/2-cup container with lid. Set aside.
Stir sugar, oils and spice mix together in mixing bowl. Pack mixture into decorative container, adding a seashell scooper to the top, if using.
*Oils include canola, light olive oil, sweet almond, avocado, apricot, jojoba, macadamia, rose hip, grapeseed, suflower or safflower oil or a blend of the above.

For smooth skin that glows, apply well-stirred scrub to moixtened skin and gently exfoliate withs circular motions.
Rinse with warm water and pat dry. This product is NOT for facial use.

For sloughing dead skin off especially rough spots, you might need something with more muscle.
Scott cuts a lemon in half, pour course sea salt on both halves, and grind each into the elbows, heels, and knees.
